Morgans @ Brizefest Invitation to the RAF Brize Norton Family Day Brizefest – 3rd September 2016 Royal Air Force Brize Norton is the RAF s largest airbase. It operates and supports the strategic airlift/logistics aircraft including Voyager Air to Air Refuelling, AC17 Strategic airlift capability, A400M Atlas Tactical Airlift capability and C130J Hercules Airlift and Special Ops. More information visit www.raf.mod.uk/rafbrizenorton The Brizefest event is held each year the first Saturday of September. Link to last years event OxMOG have been invited and we would like to extend the invitation to CranMOG and SwanMOG to participate to allo us to put o a great sho of Morga s o the day! The event is limited to family and friends of RAF Brize Norton personnel and constitutes two parts between 1100hrs and 2300hrs.
Families Day - 1100 to approx. 1700. An event where the RAF invite their families and friends down into the operating / business end of the base. Activities include;
Static Display including Aircraft and Vehicles etc
Flying Display. This year they will display their own aircraft (C17, A400M Atlas, C17, C130J Hercules) and are booking the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane etc.)
Other activities, demonstrations etc.
Concert - 1700 to 2300 hrs. Essentially a Party i the Park type of Conert. We have been invited to participate in all parts of the day (and evening) in a dedicated parking area. We expect that attendees may wish to picnic or take advantage of the many catering facilities available and we plan to provide gazebo for shelter from any elements .
The important issue is that we will commit (regardless of weather – yes even the rain!) to a sizeable and varied display of vehicles of as many types a d years to make the display interesting as we are featured as an attractionon the day. Morgan Motor Company are getting involved and bringing a new Aero for a photo shoot with the RAF.
In addition to us providing a Morgan Grand Parade Convoyonto the Base through to our display area, we have suggested that we might provide a ride in a Morgan on a dedicated private circuit on part of the taxiways as a possible fund-raiser and interest for families. We will seek volunteers as part of the Registration.
The event is a fund raiser for an RAF Charity and weare proposing a donation of £ 5 per person attending. (This equates to the contributions that individual RAF family members make to attend the Concert) Security checks will have to be made in advance of the event and an On-Line Process of providing this information is now in place and here for you to register your details
