Long ago, in 1972, a Mr. Ian Galloway had thoughts of forming a Morgan centre in the Cranfield area.
Mr. Eric White, of Allon White & Sons (the local Morgan agent), was asked for a list of local Morgan owners who might be interested in forming a club.
After contacting the Morgan owners on that list and receiving positive responses, an initial exploratory meeting was held at Ian and Helka Galloway’s house during late 1972. This was followed on 24th January 1973 with a meeting at 'The Swan Revived', Newport Pagnell (formally known as 'The Swan'). In excess of 50 people crowded into 'The Revival Bar' (since re-named 'The Frog and Nightgown' bar) and 'CranMog' was born.
Ian Galloway became the first Secretary, followed by Roy Turner, David Pilgrim and John Crummie who took over the position of Secretary in January 1978 and held this position for 28 years until the Autumn of 2005.
We are delighted that some of the members who attended that first meeting are still regular attendees at Cranmog, including Philip Bell (our current President) and Laurie Povey.
Since those early years, the club has gone from strength to strength with currently over 300 members.
